This project served as an exploration in creating an abstract graphic mark derived from an object or word. The word at play here is “tattoo.” After studying operative words connected with tattooing, I created a mark or logo to illustrate a tattoo machine. A couple key words were utilized in the logo creation such as: ink, creative, skin deep, and permanent. These keywords can be seen in an abstract form in my logo. The colors were chosen based on the sleek look that tattoo shops have. The greyscale allows the darker tattoo machine and ink well to be put more into focus. Allowing the idea of permanency and ink to come together in the logo. After logo creation, wearable products were constructed in order to advertise the graphic mark of the business.
